India Files Challenge To US Steel Duties With WTO

Law360, New York (April 12, 2012, 4:30 PM EDT) -- India has lodged a formal challenge with the World Trade Organization over U.S. countervailing duties on steel products, according to a WTO statement on Thursday.

The trade body's statement, which said India had requested consultations with the U.S., provides no details on the matter, but comes just two weeks after the U.S. Department of Commerce found that steel pipes imported into the U.S. from India were unlawfully subsidized.
