UK's Cameron Wants Myanmar Sanctions Suspended

Law360, New York (April 13, 2012, 7:40 PM EDT) -- British Prime Minister David Cameron said Friday that the European Union's economic sanctions against Myanmar should be suspended as a way to encourage continued democratic and human rights reforms.

Cameron's statements come as the EU considers whether to relax a number of restrictive measures against Myanmar, also known as Burma, in response to recent political reform programs by the country's regime. The EU removed travel bans on the country's high-ranking officials in January and promised in a statement to review trade and financial embargoes this spring....
