NY Home Value Inflation Row Won't Get High Court Hearing

Law360, New York (April 16, 2012, 5:43 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear a petition from CoreLogic Inc. over whether former New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's claims that parent company First American Corp. fraudulently inflated home values were preempted by federal law.

CoreLogic sought the petition in response to a New York appeals court's Nov. 22 ruling that the AG could proceed with a suit against First American, in which it claimed the company's property appraisal arm colluded with now-defunct Washington Mutual Inc. to inflate home values.
