US Denies Witness Tampering In Hospital Fraud Case

Law360, New York (April 17, 2012, 1:47 PM EDT) -- Federal prosecutors on Monday chided attorneys representing men convicted of conspiring to defraud New York Presbyterian Hospital, saying the defense team floated baseless theories of witness tampering in a desperate effort to win a new trial.

Four men and three contractors in February were convicted in a scheme where more than $2.3 million in kickbacks were doled out to secure contracts for construction work at the hospital.
