Conn. Advances Bill Banning Hiring Bias Against Jobless

Law360, New York (April 17, 2012, 7:55 PM EDT) -- Connecticut lawmakers on Tuesday advanced a bill that would make it illegal for employers to discriminate against unemployed job seekers in advertisements, following the lead of several other states that have considered such measures.

The state General Assembly's Judiciary Committee voted in favor of S.B. 79, which would prohibit employers or employment agencies from advertising employment opportunities in a manner that restricts employment to discriminate against unemployed individuals.
