4th Circ. Affirms Burberry Counterfeiting Convictions

Law360, New York (April 17, 2012, 8:31 PM EDT) -- The Fourth Circuit on Tuesday upheld jury verdicts that found two accused counterfeiters guilty of importing and selling knockoff Burberry Ltd. handbags and wallets, saying the traffickers had failed to prove that there was not enough evidence to convict them.

Chong Lam and Siu Yung "Joyce" Chan were convicted in 2010 of conspiracy and trafficking charges related to their selling and importing of counterfeit goods, including those that replicated Burberry's "Check" trademark, which covers the company's well-known plaid pattern.
