Abdul-Jabbar Settles Likeness Suit With Upper Deck

Law360, Los Angeles (April 17, 2012, 3:08 PM EDT) -- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has resolved his right to publicity lawsuit against The Upper Deck Co. LLC over the company's alleged unauthorized use of his name, likeness and signature on a series of trading cards canonizing his collegiate basketball career at UCLA, attorneys said Tuesday.

Attorneys told Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael P. Linfield they resolved the case on Monday, Abdul-Jabbar's 65th birthday. Terms of the settlement are confidential, attorneys on both sides said.
