NY Dems' Wage Gap Bills Face Dead End In GOP-Held Senate

Law360, New York (April 18, 2012, 5:56 PM EDT) -- A raft of bills being pushed by New York Democrats to fix pay discrepancies between men and women — and between minorities and nonminorities — has passed the state Assembly but is likely doomed in the Republican-controlled Senate, where the legislation landed Wednesday.

Three bills calling for wage gap fixes in both the private and public sectors have failed to get consideration in the Republican-controlled Senate despite previous attempts by the Assembly, which passed them again Tuesday afternoon.
