FTC Backs Cardinal Health's Nuclear Pharmacy Sale Plan

Law360, New York (April 18, 2012, 7:58 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission has signed off on the sales of three nuclear pharmacies that Cardinal Health Inc. was required to divest after acquiring Biotech Pharmacy Inc., the agency said Wednesday.

Cardinal's 2009 purchase of Biotech gave it an unchallenged monopoly in the nuclear pharmacy business in Albuquerque, N.M., and a large market share in the Las Vegas and El Paso, Texas, markets, the FTC said in a complaint alleging anti-competitive practices.
