Ex-Broncos' Injuries Outlasted Policy, Travelers Says

Law360, New York (April 19, 2012, 2:24 PM EDT) -- Travelers Indemnity Co. told a Colorado federal judge Wednesday that it did not owe insurance coverage to former Denver Broncos players for cumulative trauma suffered during the 1970 football season because they kept playing well after the policy ended.

The insurer lodged a motion for summary judgment seeking to nix coverage claims by team owner PDB Sports Ltd. over trauma that occurred in games and preseason training camp in California. The Travelers policy covered five Broncos players for occurrences in all states between 1970 to 1971,...
