National Lampoon CEO Can't Duck $230M Fraud Case

Law360, New York (April 19, 2012, 9:53 PM EDT) -- An Indiana federal judge on Thursday denied a bid by National Lampoon Inc. CEO Timothy Durham to dismiss a suit accusing him of operating a $230 million criminal scam, finding he had not adequately supported his argument that prosecutors had used wiretaps without authorization.

U.S. District Judge Jane Magnus-Stinson rebuffed Durham’s argument that prosecutors had engaged in "outrageous government conduct" by running certain test software to wiretap his cellphone before the court had authorized them to wiretap him.
