Fidelity National Wants Home Warranty Kickbacks Suit Tossed

Law360, New York (April 23, 2012, 6:40 PM EDT) -- Fidelity National Financial Inc. and subsidiaries including Chicago Title Co. asked a California federal judge on Friday to dismiss a putative class action alleging they gave real estate brokers illegal kickbacks to refer consumers to them for title insurance and home warranty services.

Fidelity said Paul Preston, the named plaintiff in the case, only obtained a home warranty from one of the Fidelity companies named in the suit — Fidelity National Home Warranty Co. — and didn't do any business with any of the other companies....
