Vodafone Eyes Lighter Data Load With $1.7B C&W Deal

Law360, New York (April 23, 2012, 1:12 PM EDT) -- A unit of communications giant Vodafone Group PLC agreed Monday to pick up struggling U.K.-based Cable & Wireless Worldwide PLC for £1.04 billion ($1.67 billion), in an all-cash deal that is expected to lighten data traffic on Vodafone's European mobile networks.
