Sun Pharma, Mylan Enter Growing Pool Of Zyprexa Generics

Law360, Washington (April 24, 2012, 5:53 PM EDT) -- Eli Lilly & Co.'s antipsychotic medication Zyprexa received a slew of new competitors Tuesday as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved generic versions of the drug from several new manufacturers after all drug exclusivity protections expired.

The FDA approved abbreviated new drug applications for six strengths of olanzapine tablets from both Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. and Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc., and also approved five new doses of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories' generic Zyprexa pills.
