Mistrial Declared In Book-Cooking Case Against Vitesse Execs

Law360, New York (April 24, 2012, 7:46 PM EDT) -- A federal judge declared a mistrial Tuesday in the criminal case against former Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. CEO Louis Tomasetta and another executive who were accused of lying about the company's revenues and options backdating.

U.S. District Judge Paul A. Crotty ended deliberations and dismissed a Manhattan jury after they told him that, after four days of deliberation, they could not reach a unanimous verdict in the case against Tomasetta and former Vitesse Chief Financial Officer Eugene Hovanec, who was tried alongside him.
