Mexican PE Fund Raises $160M Under New Pension Rules

Law360, New York (April 25, 2012, 6:42 PM EDT) -- Mexican City-based Wamex Private Equity Management has closed its second fund at $160 million, tapping pension fund investors under newly relaxed rules that could signal a brighter future for fundraising in that country, the firm said Wednesday.

Multinational Industrial Fund II will provide growth equity to Mexican companies and has already invested $64 million, backing a budget hotel chain, a health care information technology company and an environment-focused financing firm.
