Anti-SLAPP Law Bars DC 'Superman' Claims, 9th Circ. Hears

Law360, New York (April 25, 2012, 9:43 PM EDT) -- Pacific Pictures Corp. lodged an opening brief in its Ninth Circuit fight with DC Comics on Tuesday, arguing a lower court erred in not finding some of DC's claims over who owns the rights to Superman are barred by California's Anti-SLAPP law.

Pacific, along with the heirs of the Superman creators and their attorney Marc Toberoff, maintain that DC has failed to introduce any admissible evidence that shows it has any probability of success in its case.
