9/11 Families Want Cockpit Recording Released

Law360, New York (August 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The families of airplane passengers who were killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks have once again asked the federal court to release a cockpit voice recording that chronicled the last 30 minutes on United Airlines flight 93.

The families, whose negligence lawsuits against airlines and security companies have been consolidated, have argued that the recording is the only way the court can hear exactly what happened in that half hour and that a transcript will not suffice.
