Nevada AG To Probe UnitedHealth-Sierra Marriage

Law360, New York (August 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Following in the footsteps of federal regulators, Nevada's attorney general is putting UnitedHealth Group Inc.'s proposed $2.6 billion buyout of Sierra Health Services Inc. under the antitrust spotlight.

Attorney General Catherine Cortez-Masto may try to block the deal in state or federal court if she determines that a merger between the two companies would have anti-competitive ramifications for consumers, according to Nicole Moon, a spokesperson for Cortez-Masto.
