GMO Labeling Initiative Ballot-Ready, Calif. Group Says

Law360, New York (May 02, 2012, 6:20 PM ET) -- A California group hoping to get an initiative for the labeling of genetically engineered food on the ballot said Wednesday it has all the signatures it needs, but an opposition group said the proposal would lead to lawsuits.

The Right to Know Campaign said it had gathered 971,126 signatures for the initiative — far exceeding the 555,236 the group said are required.
