US Must Press China To Keep IP Promises, Official Says

Law360, New York (May 9, 2012, 2:15 PM EDT) -- The U.S. will have to keep pressure on China to ensure it sticks to a recent promise to crack down on intellectual property infringement and trade of counterfeit goods, an Obama administration official said Wednesday.

Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator Victoria A. Espinel, speaking at an oversight hearing conducted by the Senate Judiciary Committee, said progress has been made in cooperating with foreign law enforcement agencies to root out infringement and counterfeits but there is still a lot of work to be done.
