Hospital Network Faces Calif. Suit Over Price Gouging

Law360, New York (May 3, 2012, 2:30 PM EDT) -- Dignity Health, a nonprofit hospital network whose creed promises "special attention to the poor and underserved," was slapped with a proposed consumer class action Wednesday accusing the San Francisco-based organization of price gouging when treating uninsured patients.

California resident Tony Sarun says he faced exorbitant charges after being brought by ambulance to Northridge Hospital Medical Center last year following a motor vehicle accident.
