Law360, New York (May 03, 2012, 2:59 PM ET) -- The state of Alaska on Wednesday approved TransCanada Corp.’s move to abandon its proposed 1,700-mile natural gas pipeline running from the state's North Slope to Alberta in favor of a shorter, in-state pipeline that aims to export liquefied natural gas.
The state’s natural resources and revenue commissioners approved a project plan amendment submitted by TransCanada , which has held a license under the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act to develop a natural gas pipeline since 2008.
