Hostess Wins OK To Drop Contracts With Bakers Union

Law360, New York (May 04, 2012, 5:04 PM ET) -- A New York bankruptcy judge on Friday granted Hostess Brands Inc.'s request for permission to abandon some of its collective bargaining agreements with the Bakery Workers union following months of tense negotiations between the company and its workforce.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert Drain granted Hostess' motion to modify its obligation to contribute to multiemployer benefit plans and to reject certain collective bargaining agreements with 35 local affiliates of the union.
