Legislators Urge USTR To Protect Glassware Jobs In TPP

Law360, New York (May 07, 2012, 5:52 PM ET) -- Several members of Congress on Monday called on U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk to protect the domestic tableware glass industry in states like Ohio, Louisiana and Pennsylvania, as the U.S. is set to begin more negotiations on the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal.

Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Rob Portman, R-Ohio, authored a letter to Kirk’s office that urges the trade representative to support American glass jobs by maintaining tariffs on imported glassware products.
