Senate Confirms 2 FCC Commissioners After Long Wait

Law360, New York (May 7, 2012, 7:18 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate on Monday voted to approve two nominees to fill vacancies at the Federal Communications Commission, after a monthslong holdup by Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, who sought to tie the pair’s confirmation to unreleased FCC documents on a startup wireless provider.

The Senate confirmed Jessica Rosenworcel and Ajit Pai to the commission’s five-member board, according to the FCC. Both are former FCC employees who were originally nominated to the posts by President Barack Obama in October.
