Morgan Lewis Atty Sanctioned For Doc Sharing In Gene IP Row

Law360, New York (May 8, 2012, 1:55 PM EDT) -- A Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP attorney was sanctioned Monday by a California federal judge for exposing evidence meant for attorneys’ eyes only to his client Biosearch Technologies Inc. in the company’s gene probe patent battle with Life Technologies Corp.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Joseph C. Spero found that Morgan Lewis partner Jeffry Mann violated a rule limiting disclosure of confidential information by forwarding an email with embedded links to certain Life Tech laboratory notebooks concerning the patents-in-suit to Dr. Ronald Cook, CEO of Biosearch.
