U.S. Adds China, Israel To IP Blacklist

Law360, New York (April 30, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. elevated China and Israel to its priority watch list of countries that violate intellectual property rights, and said India and Taiwan would remain on the list despite significant progress in those countries.

In its annual report, the U.S. Trade Representative said that China was being elevated to the priority watch list because of serious concerns about piracy and counterfeiting rates that remain at extremely high levels due to China’s inadequate enforcement system.
