Suit Over Michael Jackson Royalties Gets The Boot

Law360, Los Angeles (May 8, 2012, 7:30 PM EDT) -- A California state judge on Tuesday nixed a breach of contract lawsuit by Michael Jackson's former management company, DeMann Entertainment Inc., claiming Jackson's estate has withheld royalties from the sale of Jackson's $400 million music catalog.

Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff said DeMann hasn't produced necessary evidence to show its 1978 contract with Jackson, which ran until 1983, entitles the talent management firm to revenues from Ubisoft's dance video game “Michael Jackson: The Experience” and other ventures involving the King of Pop's output.
