Ikea Faces $1M Faulty Candle Suit In Fed. Court

Law360, New York (May 11, 2012, 7:12 PM ET) -- A $1 million product liability lawsuit filed by an Atlanta restaurant against Ikea U.S. East LLC and its affiliates was moved to federal court Wednesday, alleging a candle purchased from the home goods giant reignited while the eatery was closed, causing a fire.

In a suit originally filed in Georgia Superior Court last month, Rare Food Ventures Inc. said a candle sold by Ikea is at fault in a 2008 fire that damaged the company's Rare Soul Tapas restaurant.
