Judge Stalls Government's “No-Match” Plan

Law360, New York (September 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has put the brakes on a government plan to boost fines for companies that knowingly hire illegal workers, issuing a temporary restraining order barring the Social Security Administration from notifying employers who receive so-called “no-match” letters that they may be subject to civil and criminal sanctions.
