SBA To Open Research Awards To More Small Businesses

Law360, New York (May 14, 2012, 8:26 PM EDT) -- The Small Business Administration is set to update its rules Tuesday on small business research entities, a move that the agency said would create more opportunities for businesses partially owned by venture capital companies, hedge funds and private equity groups.

The proposed rule would update ownership regulations for the Small Business Innovation Research Awards and Small Business Technology Transfer programs, which were reauthorized and amended as part of the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act.
