Accretive Taps Daschle, Frist To Pen Patient-Billing Rules

Law360, New York (May 15, 2012, 5:52 PM ET) -- Illinois-based Accretive Health Inc., under fire for allegedly unscrupulous billing practices, on Tuesday announced it is paying two former senators and other big-name players to help develop national standards on how hospitals and patients interact when discussing the cost of treatment.

Michael O. Leavitt, former Utah governor and onetime secretary of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will chair a panel and be joined by Democrat Tom Daschle and Republican Dr. Bill Frist, both previous Senate majority leaders.
