EPA Scores $5M More For San Gabriel Superfund Cleanup

Law360, New York (May 15, 2012, 9:00 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency reached two additional settlements totaling approximately $4.9 million Tuesday in a 10-year-old dispute with 10 current or former land and company owners over a cleanup at a San Gabriel Valley Superfund site.

The EPA and the California Department of Toxic Substances Control asked a California federal court to enter a proposed consent decree with companies including Quaker Chemical Corp., Art Weiss Inc., Craneveyor Corp. and Seachrome Corp., owners of property and operators of businesses where contaminants like perchloroethylene and trichloroethylene, or...
