US Slaps Hefty Dumping Duties On Chinese Solar Panels

Law360, New York (May 17, 2012, 7:29 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce on Thursday imposed anti-dumping duties of just over 31 percent on solar panels from China, a move proponents said would combat China's unfair trade practices and critics claimed would hinder the solar sector by driving up costs.

Commerce issued its preliminary determination on anti-dumping duties two months after preliminarily deciding to impose countervailing duties on Chinese solar panels of between 2.9 percent and 4.73 percent.
