DaVita Pays $4B For Health Network To Bolster Medicare Rolls

Law360, New York (May 21, 2012, 3:39 PM EDT) -- DaVita Inc., an operator of kidney dialysis clinics, will scoop up managed care group HealthCare Partners LLC for $4.4 billion, adding thousands of money-making Medicare patients to its rolls and expanding in key markets, the company said Monday.

Denver-based DaVita will pay $3.66 billion in cash and $758 million in stock. HealthCare Partners' network of 150 clinics and 8,300 physicians will operate as a subsidiary of the newly renamed company, DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc.
