G-8 Hits On Drug Safety, Counterfeiting For 1st Time

Law360, New York (May 21, 2012, 6:51 PM EDT) -- The heads of leading industrial nations on Saturday agreed to work together to address drug counterfeiting and illegitimate online pharmacies, saying such work is needed to protect both intellectual property rights and public health.

The Group of Eight included the drug issues among a list of priorities intended to strengthen the global economy, in a declaration the group released after its annual meeting.
