Google's Android Doesn't Infringe Oracle Patents, Jury Says

Law360, Los Angeles (May 23, 2012, 4:08 PM ET) -- Google Inc.'s Android mobile device software doesn't infringe two Oracle Corp. patents, a California federal jury said Wednesday, dealing Oracle a significant blow as it awaits the court's answer to a significant copyright question in the tech companies' ongoing battle over mobile device technology.

In a unanimous decision, the San Francisco federal panel found that Google's Android platform doesn't infringe U.S. Patent Numbers 6,061,520 and RE 38,104. The 12-member jury began deliberating on the patent infringement question on May 14, Google spokesman Jim Prosser said....
