Northrop Settles Lawsuit Over Fingerprint ID

Law360, New York (September 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Defense technology company Northrop Grumman Corp. and Cogent Systems have reached a settlement agreement in an ongoing legal dispute over automated fingerprint identification technology, the companies announced Monday.

As part of the settlement agreement, Northrop will pay Cogent $25 million to put an end to the litigation. The two companies also said they have entered into a five-year research and development, service and products agreement. Northrop Grumman will pay Cogent a total of $20 million for products and services during that five year period.
