Hollywood Widow Sues Hyatt Over Suicide Bombing

Law360, New York (September 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The widow of a prominent Hollywood director-producer has taken aim at Hyatt, filing a wrongful death suit on the eve of Sept. 11 alleging the global hotel chain failed to protect her husband and daughter from a suicide bombing in a Syrian hotel in 2005.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in the Circuit Court of Cook County in Chicago, where Hyatt’s worldwide headquarters are based, accuses Hyatt International Corp. and Global Hyatt Corp. of failing to responsibly protect their registered guests from foreseeable criminal attack and violence....
