Law360, New York (May 29, 2012, 3:08 PM ET) -- A putative class of Louisiana residents displaced by hurricanes Katrina and Rita have resolved nearly all claims in multidistrict litigation alleging their emergency trailers contained formaldehyde, an attorney for the plaintiffs said Tuesday.
In Monday and Tuesday court filings, the plaintiffs asked U.S. District Judge Kurt Engelhardt to preliminarily approve an updated version of an April 13 settlement, worth at least $11.5 million, between residents and companies that manufactured or managed makeshift trailers for the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
