Law360, New York (May 31, 2012, 7:57 PM ET) -- As federally regulated airwaves become an increasingly sought-after resource, medical device makers and the aerospace lobby proved last week that industries with disparate interests — and billions of dollars on the line — can work out a mutually agreeable way to share the radio spectrum.
The Federal Communications Commission last week approved the use of a 40-megahertz band of the spectrum for medical devices known as body area networks, which would allow hospitals to wirelessly monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate and oxygen levels....
