Lawmakers Brawl Over Bill To Repeal ACA Medical Device Tax

Law360, New York (May 31, 2012, 2:53 PM EDT) -- A U.S. House of Representatives committee on Thursday advanced legislation to repeal a medical device tax intended to help pay for health care reform, but not before lawmakers lobbed sharp attacks over possible impacts to innovation, outsourcing and the national debt.

Though a handful of Democrats in states with a large presence of device makers have warmed up to the Republican-backed bill, the measure passed largely along party lines.
