NY Senate OKs Bill Allowing Criminal Checks On Contractors

Law360, New York (June 1, 2012, 4:53 PM EDT) -- New York's Republican-controlled Senate has passed a union-backed bill allowing the state to conduct criminal background checks on government contractors, but concerns that such a law could cost people jobs hurts its chances in the Assembly, people familiar with the legislation told Law360 on Friday.
