Ex-Wilson Atty Gets Record Insider Trading Sentence

Law360, New York (June 04, 2012, 10:37 PM ET) -- A judge in New Jersey on Monday hit former Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati PC attorney Matthew Kluger with the longest prison sentence ever handed down in an insider trading case — 12 years — for providing confidential information on corporate deals during the 17-year, $37 million scheme.

“This kind of behavior clearly corrupts the expectations of investors,” U.S. District Judge Katharine Hayden said during the proceeding. “It allows greedy, arrogant people to make money off others.”
