Judge Gives Credence To Global Power Protests

Law360, New York (September 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two days after filing its Chapter 11 plan, Global Power Equipment Group Inc. has scored a victory in its wide-ranging campaign against various claimants in the bankruptcy case, with the judge agreeing to toss out a host of monetary demands currently facing the debtor.

On Monday, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Brendan Shannon allowed Global Power's so-called ninth omnibus objection to stand, ruling that the dismissal of a score of claims would be in the best interests of the estate.
