Intel, Microsoft, HP, Dell Sue To Invalidate Wireless LAN Patent

Law360, New York (May 19, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Five of the world’s top high-tech companies have filed lawsuits to invalidate a wireless networking patent held by an Australian government agency.

One lawsuit, filed earlier this month by Microsoft, Apple, Hewlett-Packard and Netgear in U.S. District Court for the District of Northern California, asks the court to invalidate a patent held by the Australian government’s Commonwealth Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation.

Dell and Intel filed a separate suit in the San Jose branch of the same court, also seeking to invalidate the same patent....
