EU May Lodge Antitrust Charges In $2B EMI/Universal Deal

Law360, New York (June 8, 2012, 10:38 PM EDT) -- The European Commission may file charges against the proposed $1.9 billion merger of Universal Music Group and EMI Group Ltd.’s music unit, as the commission’s competition chief said Friday that it is moving forward in its investigation.

Universal said in a statement Friday that the company expects to receive a "statement of objections" from the regulator.
