Improper Use Of Fentora Can Be Deadly: Cephalon VP

Law360, New York (September 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Jeffrey Dayno, vice president of pharmaceutical company Cephalon Inc., warned doctors in a letter on Monday that its pain drug Fentora carried a risk of serious health complications and even death if not used correctly.

“We have recently learned of serious adverse events, including deaths in patients treated with Fentora,” Dayno said. “These deaths occurred as a result of improper patient selection (e.g., use in opioid non-tolerant patients), improper dosing, and/or improper product subsitution.”
