Ad Regulator Tells Comcast To Halt Xfinity 'Fastest' Claims

Law360, New York (June 13, 2012, 2:35 PM EDT) -- An advertising industry self-regulator told Comcast Communications Inc. on Tuesday to stop asserting that its Xfinity Internet service was the “fastest in the nation,” following Verizon Communications Inc.’s complaint that the claim was overly broad.

The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus concluded that Comcast should discontinue using ads that had unqualified statements claiming Comcast was “fastest Internet service provider in the nation” based on a study by PC Magazine.
